Butter, honey (or maple syrup), vanilla extract, salt, hazelnuts, oatmeal, orange peel and chopped dates.
Preheat the oven to 150 ° C or 300 ° F. Mix the butter, honey, vanilla extract and salt in a small frying pan over low heat until the butter is completely melted. Then set it aside. Chop the hazelnuts until some of them are powdered, while some remain in large chunks.
Put the chopped hazelnuts with the orange peel and oatmeal in a bowl. Then pour the buttermilk over them and stir until all the dry matter is soaked in the buttermilk. Spread the granola on a greased baking tray and bake in the oven for 30 minutes. Note that you must remove the tray from the oven every 10 minutes and remove the sticky granules.
After 30 minutes, pour the dates into the granola and place in the oven for another 10 minutes. Then allow the granules to cool to room temperature. You can keep your delicious granules in a sealed glass container for 2 weeks.
